St Christopher's Church

Mission: To welcome, love and serve all people

Sundays

11am Cafe Church

We meet at 11am for an all age cafe-style service of Holy Communion, which lasts around an hour and fifteen minutes. It's informal, interactive and set around coffee tables. There are prayers, songs, Bible readings, "Table Talk" discussions, individual reflection time, and interactive talks. There are self-service snacks and drinks available on tables at the back of church throughout the service, and it's all free! (We have activity packs for children to enjoy too.)

It might seem an unusual way to "do" a church service, but we believe in "being" church. Our interactive style enables us to learn from one another, listen to one another and look for God in one another. We encourage everyone to think for themselves and don't look for the "right" answers in our discussions. No-one has to have a degree in theology or any Bible knowledge at all in order to join in conversations (and no-one needs to speak at all if they'd prefer to listen). We respond to what we hear together, from the Bible and the speaker for that day, and we don't expect everyone to think the same way, in fact, we'd be surprised if they did!

We are an inclusive church. Everyone is welcome, even if you've never been to church before or haven't been for a long time. We are not here to be a place of judgement but a place of welcome. All are valued. All are equal. All are human. And all are loved by God.
